#WhatWeWoreWednesday: January 2018
YAY for the first post of 2018 AND my first What We Word Wednesday review! This year I am aiming to put action to my interests and I challenge you to do the same.
As many of you know, I work in Television... currently local news to be specific. The day to day environment can be a little stiff. Reporting in the field (outside of the studio) doesn't always allow flexibility to dress up super cute or trendy.
What We Wore Wednesday was created to encourage women (and men) everywhere, myself included, to find the FUN in dressing up for work everyday.
When you look good, you feel even better. No matter your current role or industry, put forth the effort and find one way to spice up your work wardrobe this upcoming Wednesday.
Whether it be a new dress, a jazzy tie, heck even a new pair of socks... do something different! I promise you'll notice a difference in your mood and your strut.
Joining the movement is simple:
1. Get up, dress up and show up. And by show up I mean show OUT in the most stylish of ways.
2. Take a quick pic of yourself or have a full blown photo-shoot. Its up to you!
3. Post your picture on social media using the hashtag #WhatWeWoreWednesday and tag me @BrejaminPerkins so I'm sure to see it!
My mom found this really cute Banana Republic suit at TJ Maxx for a great price. I wasn't crazy about it at first and started to take it back. Glad I didn't! Every woman needs a cute suit. Paired it with a Gianni Bini hunter green body suit, some cute gold earrings I found at Dillard's and my trusty dusty Antonio Melani black pumps.
Loved the dress the moment I saw it. Fashion Nova has become a really popular online brand thanks to Instagram. I've ordered from them several times, but more clothing on the casual side (not anything I would wear to work) This dress gave just enough sexy without looking like I was going to the club. The bell sleeves and color makes it a standout!
We finally got some snow in the Natural State! There are no "off days" in News so yeah I was at work. I dreaded going in, getting dressed and driving but made it through the day lol. I've had this white Kardashian Kollection sweater for years (not sure if the brand still exist) it was perfect for the snow. Topped this winter fit off with one of my favorite scarves of the season, in love with the shade, and some Khombu snow boots!
I missed week 4 because I was out sick. However, I think this dress and the weather made up for it! Got this dress from an H&M while out of town, I can't remember what state. Love it! The print is unique and the big bow that ties together in the front just pulls it all together. Some people consider wearing prints on-air in News a taboo... but I'm a do what you want do kind of gal! If you look closely you can see that my earrings are gold snakeskin, was gifted them at a recent hosting gig. BCBGeneration on the feet.
